ABOUT THE BIBLE

The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God. It is the authority for salvation and Christian living. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; Ephesians 3:5; 2 Peter 3:2).

ABOUT GOD

There is One God (Deuteronomy 6:4); Who, as Father, is the ground and source of all things (Genesis 1:1); in the Son is made manifest to the world (1 Timothy 3:16); and as the Holy Ghost, dwells in men (John 14:17-18). Jesus is both God and man. (See Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9)

ABOUT SIN AND SALVATION

Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Acts 2:38 includes for us the full plan of salvation. Jesus told Peter that unto him would be given the keys to open the doors to the kingdom. Those keys became the foundation of the Apostles' message and include Repentance: a total change of heart and mind; Baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins: a submersion in water calling on the saving name of God; Being Filled with the Holy Ghost (Spirit). Salvation is a gift from God, given to those who, through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross, have applied these things to their life. (See Romans 3:22-26; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9.)

ABOUT THE GOSPEL

The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel, or Good News (2 Thessalonians 1:8; I Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives us the ability (resurrection). (See 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, Acts 2:37-39; Romans 6:3-4.)

ABOUT CHRISTIAN LIVING

As Christians we are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today. (See Mark 12:28-31; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10.)

ABOUT THE FUTURE

Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death. (See 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15.)
